What We Do

Licensed Demolition Contractor Serving Coeur d'Alene & Kootenai County

Most light demolition projects in Kootenai County don't require a general contractor: but having one on the job changes what's possible and what's covered. Heritage holds Idaho GC License #3481216, carries full general liability insurance, and performs all demolition work to code. When permits are required, Heritage guides you through the Kootenai County permit process.

Heritage handles the full scope of light demolition: full structure teardown of sheds, garages, carports, and outbuildings; deck demolition and removal; fence removal; and interior selective demolition including cabinets, flooring, drywall, built-ins, and vanities. All debris is hauled away the same day.

For pre-1978 structures, Heritage is EPA/HUD/State RRP Lead-Safe Certified: which is required by federal law for renovation, repair, and demolition work that disturbs lead-based paint. Many North Idaho properties were built before 1978. If yours was, Heritage has the certification required to work on it legally and safely.

Why Heritage

Why Use Heritage for Demolition

Demolition work in Idaho legally requires a licensed contractor for many project types. Heritage holds Idaho GC License #3481216 and carries full general liability insurance. Your property is protected throughout the project.

EPA Lead-Safe Certified

Federal law requires EPA RRP certification for renovation and demolition work on pre-1978 structures that disturbs lead-based paint. Heritage holds this certification. Many North Idaho homes and outbuildings were built before 1978: Heritage handles them legally and safely.

Teardown and Haul-Away in One Visit

Heritage doesn't leave debris on your property. The structure comes down and the debris leaves the same day. Utility coordination is handled through licensed subcontractors before demolition begins: Heritage manages the whole project.

How It Works

The Demolition Process

On-Site Assessment

Heritage evaluates the structure, identifies any pre-1978 concerns, advises on permit requirements for Kootenai County, and provides a written estimate.

Utility Coordination

Where electrical, plumbing, or gas disconnects are required, Heritage coordinates with licensed subcontractors to complete those disconnects before demolition begins.

Teardown

The structure comes down using the appropriate method for the build type. Lead-safe protocols are followed on pre-1978 structures. All debris is staged for haul-away during demo.

Haul-Away & Site Clear

All debris is hauled away the same day. The site is left clear. Before/after photos are provided. Heritage discusses any follow-up work: grading, fill, exterior restoration: if needed.

Demolition FAQ

Permit requirements depend on the size and type of structure and your specific location in Kootenai County. Some smaller accessory structures don't require a permit; others do. Heritage provides permit guidance as part of the project scope and can advise on what's required for your specific structure during the on-site assessment.

Federal EPA RRP (Renovation, Repair, and Painting) rules require that contractors performing demolition, renovation, or repair work that disturbs lead-based paint on pre-1978 structures be EPA Lead-Safe Certified. This applies to homes, sheds, garages, and other structures built before 1978. Heritage holds this certification and follows all required lead-safe work practices on qualifying projects.
